Facial Acupuncture + Microneedling

Acupuncture facials are super unique and different from standard facials - they are more about rejuvenation from within, lifting, brighting and releasing tension and emotional stagnation. You will look brighter, more connected, lifted and sculpted.

FACIAL ACUPUnCTURE

Facial acupuncture is a specialized form of acupuncture that focuses on improving the appearance of the face. It involves inserting very fine needles into specific points on the face and body to stimulate the flow of qi (vital energy) and blood, promoting skin health and reducing signs of aging. This can help address issues such as wrinkles, sagging skin, and uneven skin tone.

FAQ’S

What is facial acupuncture?

  • Facial acupuncture is specifically aimed at improving the appearance and health of the skin and musculature of the face. When certain muscles hold tension, the overlaid skin will fold and over time, cause lines and wrinkles. By inserting very fine needles into specific points, sessions will reduce this tension in the face, promote blood flow, stimulate collagen production, and balance the energy in the face and body.

  • How long will a session last?

    • Initial treatments build in ample time to dive into your health history and lifestyle, to reveal the root cause of internal imbalance that affects the face.

    • Follow-up treatments continue to harmonize the root cause of imbalance using multiple tools to relieve postural rigidity, stimulate lymphatic drainage, relax and uplift facial tension, increase blood flow, stimulate collagen production, and resurface the skin.

  • When will I start to see a change?

    • Facial rejuvenation sessions build over time. Notice some changes in 3-5 treatments and more notable shifts between 5-7 treatments. After about 10 treatments, the body can more easily sustain the benefits.

  • What should I expect during the session?

    • 75 minutes of bliss. Treatments begin with manually releasing tension in the shoulders and neck. Gua sha and facial cupping tools are used to drain lymphatic fluids, promoting detoxification and decreasing fluid retention. Microcurrent devices initiate cellular turnover to invigorate muscle at a deeper level, and stimulate new collagen production at the surface.

    • The last step is Acupuncture. Needle placement is completely tailored to individual needs based on the root cause of imbalance. Acupuncture needles are inserted into areas of the face to reset any tense muscles, stagnation in the channels, stimulate blood flow and recontour the face. Inserting needles directly into lines and wrinkles creates tiny microtraumas to the skin, which stimulate collagen production so the skin can resurface itself.

    • As the needles sit, clients can opt for red light therapy over the face to target deep layers of the dermis and epidermis to regenerate skin cells, collagen and elastin to improve skin tone and texture.

  • How long is a series? And what are the noticeable changes?

    • After the first treatment, any signs of fluid retention and puffiness are visibly reduced. After the first few treatments, your energy may begin to shift, allowing you to feel the physical and emotional tension to soften. After 3-5 consistent treatments, you may start to feel more uplifted, and the muscles begin to reset their patterning of contraction and movement, and begin to soften any fine lines and wrinkles. As the treatments build, change may become more outwardly apparent, reflective of a shift towards internal balance.

  • Can I bruise?

    • The chance of bruising is dependent on individual facial structure and the quality of the blood vessels, which is unique for each person. Areas where bruising is likely are always avoided. In the rare event, it does occur, bruising does heal itself swiftly with the aid of anti-inflammatory topicals. Let your practitioner know if you take any anticoagulant medications, as this can contribute to the likelihood of bruising.

  • What other things should I be aware of?

    • Patients will want to hydrate and plan on a relaxing day after the treatment. The goal is to savor the calming effects as long as possible!

  • If I have an event - how much time should I have between the event and my facials?

    • Can be as close to the day of! Tools like gua sha and microcurrent are fabulous here and can have you feeling clear, bright, and your best self for any photo moments.

  • Does it hurt?

    • Unlike extractions or laser therapy, there is minimal discomfort during facial acupuncture sessions. Most tools are used to relax the body and nervous system. With any acupuncture treatment, there can be a small sensation upon needle insertion that disappears after a few seconds.

  • What if I have botox?

    • Areas are avoided within 3 weeks of receiving botox.

  • What if I have filler?

    • Areas are completely avoided

  • What if I am afraid of needles?

    • We can go slow, and walk you through the treatment so that you feel most comfortable and safe to receive.

  • Why an ACU facial vs a regular facial?

    • Whereas regular facials target very surface complexion and quality of pores, acupuncture facials are suited to redefine how the face holds tension, whether stress of the organs, tension in the muscles or stress of the nervous system. By treating the cause of imbalance, you will feel whole body benefit, emotionally balanced and better from within.
